Re-dedication service for Private John Martin Roberts

On 18 May 2022 a re-dedication service was held at the Queens Cemetery, Bucquoy, France, by the Joint Casualty & Compassionate Centre of the Ministry of Defence for Private John Martion Roberts, who was killed in action on 21 August 1918. His body, not identifiable at the time, was recovered from the battlefield and buried as an unknown soldier in the Queens Cemetery. My research into the North Irish Horse regiment identified the man as Private Roberts and this was subsequently confirmed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and the Ministry of Defence. The images below include members of the official party, serving members of the North Irish Horse Squadron of the Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry, and descendants of Private Roberts.
